In the 3. master semester I mainly concentrated on security. The interesting lectures were interprocess communication in unix where one could learn a lot about special properties of the different unices and the unified programming on unix systems. The other interesting course was compiler design II where I could implement some optimizations into the compiler we developed in compiler design I.
On the security side I have to mention the applied security labratory where we had to design our own certificate authority and then review the system of an other group.
These are the lectures I visited in the wintersemester 2004:
| Lecture | Type | Points | Rating | Computer science project management | Ergänzung | 2 | A lot of work for only 2 points. But the effort is worth it! | | Working phychologie | Ergänzung | 2 | Interesting lecture. If you have the chance: go hear it. | | Principles of Concurrent Programming | Fokus | 5 | Unfortunatly this lecture was very boring. The topic would be interesting but the lecture missed some important spots. | | C++ Templates & Generic Programming | Fokus | 5 | Interesting topic, but the lecture is to easy | | Concepts of object oriented programming | Fokus | 5 | I knew already too much, so this subject was not that interesting. | | Applied Security Laboratory | Anwendung | 5 | Needs a lot of work, but is very interesting. | | Compiler Design II | Vertiefung | 6 | Very interesting lecture. Needs a lot of work but I get your hand an a real self developed compiler. | | Interprocess communication in UNIX | Vertiefung | 6 | One of the most interesting lectures. Go hear it! | | Theory of Robotics and Mechatronics | Nebenfach | 5 | Interesting basic robotics course. You learn a lot about the field and get to know it. My summary | | Informationprocessing in robotics | Nebenfach | 6 | A lot of information about AI and neural networks. Interesting. My summary |
