In my second master semester I finished the last "Kernfächer". Additionaly I visited some theoretical lecutes about object oriented languages. I also did my first semester thesis at the institute for pervasive system for the BTnodes.
This semester's highlight was compiler design I where I could design and develop a working compiler for a primitive object oriented language.
Here an overview of the lectures I listened to in the summer semester 2004:
| Lecture | Type | Points | Rating | Therethical Computer Science | Kernfach | 8 | Very complicated. But it was worth it. Wiki | Computer structures | Kernfach | 8 | Very interesting, the difficulty is moderate. My summary, Wiki | | Compiler Design I | Vertiefung | 6 | Needs a lot of work. But you also get a lot. Wiki | | Parallel and Distributed Databases | Vertiefung | 5 | Interesting, but this lecture has overlappings with distributed systems. Wiki | | Ubiquitious Computing | Fokus / Vertiefung | 4 | This is not a facts lecture. It is more about the general trend and a little political Wiki | | References and aliases in object oriented languages | Seminar | 4 | Interesting lecture about memory management, references and aliases | | Development of a Bluetooth Stack for BTnodes | Semester Thesis | 9 | Interesting, but very time consuming and a lot of C. BTnodes, Thesis. See also the project info at Projects/Ethernut btstack. |
